Brisbane Youth Week is an annual celebration and showcase of young people from 12-25 years of age. It provides opportunities for young people to share ideas, attend live events, workshops, activities and forums. Youth Week celebrates the contribution of young people to the community.
In 2024, Youth Week saw 9000 people attend more than 100 activities and events across Brisbane. Activities included DIY workshops, panel discussions, skate deck painting, and all-ages music events. Physical activities included skate competitions, pool parties, K-Pop dance event and more.
Youth Week 2026
Youth Week will run from 11-19 April 2026 and there will be a lot of events taking place around Brisbane. Check out the Brisbane City Council `What’s On’ calendar for information about events during that week.
Expressions of interest for Emerging Young Creatives
Brisbane City Council’s Visible Ink Youth Hub and the Youth Development team are looking young emerging creatives to perform and photograph youth events across the city. These are paid opportunities that support the development of young people to develop their skills and confidence in dance, photography, music, and performance.
Who we are looking for
Applicants need to be emerging creatives between the ages of 12 and 25 years old and live in Brisbane. The events and activities may include:
• Performing at Brisbane Youth Week, Visible Ink Takeover the Queen Street Mall stage, and community partnership events.
• Photographing and filming events organised by and showcasing young people who are involved in Brisbane City Council events.
